Introduction to the New V-Method Technology

        

        1942, the fused alumina-zirconia bricks were successfully casted in the United States. In the early 1950s, the U.S. CE Company developed the oxidation casting process and built the series of AZS electro-cast fused alumina-zirconia refractory.

        In the 1980s, Shenyang Refractory Factory introduced the fused alumina-zirconia brick casting technology by using the oxidation method from the U.S. CE Company. In the early 21st century, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, the V-process casting technology was tried to be used in the fused alumina-zirconia refractory industry. The V-process refers to the vacuum process casting, and it is called the “V-process” for short.

        In 2017, Zhengzhou Fasin shouldered the mission of the whole industry and built a technical team. It recruited many outstanding technical persons from the V-process casting industry, developed the equipment of V-process casting and studied the vacuum casting process. It is trying hard to become the leader of this industry, leading the industrial revolution and breaking the ice for "green electro-cast”.

        The V-process upgraded technology is different from the traditional water glass and process. Its biggest advantage is that it uses a special medium instead of adhesive to seal the sandbox. Air is pumped out from the mold with the vacuum pumping system to prevent the occurrence of the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the mold. ln this way, the dry sand will be dense and can be formed casting mold directly. After the casting is cooled and molded, the sand will scatter and the casting product can be obtained, Both the mold and sand can be used repeatedly. In the V-process of casting, the temperature gradient and cooling speed of brick help it generate massive crystal nuclei and promote reasonable growth of crystal nucleus. Thus, the crystal structure and corundum-baddeleyite eutectic which is well developed and even distributed can be formed. Plus, its high structural density, the product has better anti-erosion performance than the product made in the traditional casting way. The melt is cast under the negative pressure, the air in melt can be fully vented out the melt's mold-filling capacity and feeding capacity are increased, and the structural density and external profile clearness of brick are improved.
