EAF EBT Taphole Filling Sand
01 Product Introduction
EAF EBT Taphole Filling Sand is a high-performance granular refractory material specially designed for Eccentric Bottom Tapping (EBT) electric arc furnaces. It is manufactured from selected high-quality olivine sand with optimized particle size distribution and strict process control.
Before tapping, the filling sand is charged into the taphole. During tapping, the hydrostatic pressure of molten steel allows the sand to discharge smoothly, enabling stable and controlled steel flow into the ladle. The automatic opening rate can exceed 90%.
The material does not sinter at steelmaking temperatures, maintaining excellent flowability and easy opening performance under high-temperature conditions. It plays a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient EBT furnace operation.
